Guidelines for Teachers Moving Between DOE and Charter - Transition Year

I hope this document I found helps to clarify teacher concerns about the possibility of switching back to a DOE school if charter is not for you.

  1. I am proud of you for taking the initiative and helping other get the facts. I think to many rely on others, when they can find out the facts and then form an opinion. Right on. This has been helpful.

  2. This is what I have found also, and it is what motivated me to create this site, and inform myself while I am at it. I am glad it has been helpful!

  3. So it looks like a teacher needs to be very good to stay at a charter school. In my business, performance today is my audition for tomorrow. I would like to see ALL teachers have that attitude and stop hiding in job security.

    1. I agree completely. While I can understand the worry that charter may not work out for someone, and therefore loosing a current DOE teaching position could be worrisome, this should not outweigh the sense of potential and increased performance associated with the future of our school and its students.
